Home Parade Day Things A Friendly Reminder

Looking forward to seeing all of you Saturday. Remember have your folks arrive early as Hanley Road from Waters Avenue south to Hillsborough Avenue will close at 9:00. It is a long walk to Morgan Wood Staging Area from either street.

Please, Please have your folks hand out the Parade goodies. Do not throw things into the crowd as it is a very unsafe practice. Children get excited and run out onto the street near the rolling stock and do not look. We do not want a repeat of the Plant City tragedy. I will thank you in advance for keeping the children safe.

When you reach the end of the Parade Route at Paula Dr Light, PLEASE, follow the directions of the Event Staff as to which direction your rolling stock and walkers need to go. Almost everyone will be directed to turn onto Paula Drive. This is the only efficient way to keep the Parade Moving and get the completed units out of harm’s way. Again I thank you in advance for following directions.


For all of the unit coordinators please check in at the information desk next to the Baseball Ave Gate. Also, please inform your members of the name you are registered under. Last year we had many units that consisted of multiple parties. The members of the sub-unit would request directions to the sub-unit location and the Event Staff would be unable to locate the sub-unit. The members would become frustrated and the volunteer would become frustrated. I would like to have happy smiles this year. Because lets face it, This Is Fun. I look forward to this every year.
